Swear Cuts – Oscars 2009 – Best Picture Profanity Reels
Update: These edits used to be posted separately but I’ve decided to combine them here.
As sort of a run up to the Oscars 2009 I cut the entries for “Best Picture” into profanity/swear reels. The nominated:
Frost/Nixon – TheReader – Slumdog Millionaire – Benjamin Button – Milk
I took some liberties with what really is profane or a swearword, and sometimes left a little bit of context to keep the flow somewhat smooth/interesting.
It’s still plenty shitty though.

Turns out that it’s a pretty fun process, watching a movie and being forced to pay attention to every single word. I marked the time-code on the fly whenever I heard or saw something worthy, and afterwards cut out all the non swearing bits to make the final profanity reels.
